Decorative Decoy Carving

Decorative decoy carving requires that the subject be as accurate as possible in every detail. The feathers are carved, then burned in with such detail that each barb on the feather is included up to the rate of 110 per inch.

Judging criteria includes:

1. Technique/Craftsmanship,
2. Accuracy,
3. Essence of the species,
4. Artistry, and
5. Overall presentation

Kent has entered the prestigious Ward Museum World Championships held in Ocean City, MD every April and won the prestigious competition many times, beginning with the Novice category on through and including the Masters category. The carving earns the title "Best in the World".
