Next meeting of the 2009-2010 seasonWe're on our summer break now but you can plan to join
us for the first meeting of the 2009-2010 season
on Saturday, September 19, 2009.
But that doesn't mean that we're sitting around with nothing to do!
The club is planning to participate in the following events this summer:

Planning for the Festival of Trees 2009 display
Delphine Nelson reminds us that the theme for this year’s tree is
"Cabin In The Woods" with a rustic log cabin. There will be a lake on
the corner so a carving of a canoe and a dock would be appropriate. The
committee is looking for carvings for all seasons such as skis,
furniture, an outhouse, etc. The scale for the carvings to be used with
the cabin is 1”=1’. Auction of the tree is probable again this year.
Carvings need to be ready by early November, so we can assemble the
components and have the tree ready by Thanksgiving weekend. So, start
the mental planning and blank prep soon!

Thanks for everyone's help in preparing what was a FANTASTIC and VERY WELL RECEIVED 2008 Rochester Woodcarver's tree. The tree was on display November 25-30, 2008 during the Hiawatha Homes Festival of Trees.
