The Virtual Table of Lynne Medgaarden

I am Lynne Medgaarden from Saint Paul, Minnesota. I started carving in January 1999 in a class taught by St. Paul Community Education. I enjoyed the process and artistry from the start and have continued carving ever since. I belong to several woodcarving clubs in Minnesota and have met some wonderful people. Woodcarvers tend to be generous and willing to share ideas and helpful suggestions. I love to meet and encourage new carvers to give carving a try.
I mainly carve Santas, ornaments, dogs, and small pieces. I enjoy taking a plain piece of basswood and carving into it with no specific pattern in mind. The character hidden in the wood reveals itself to me as I carve. I also enjoy painting the finished carvings and like to experiment with colors and patterns.
